Rob's Cyber Waiting Room

Do you remember the picture we posted a few weeks ago of Robi's arm? This is a picture of his arm last week.

Recently, I had a friend share an interesting statistic she learned from a show she had listened to. The guest on the show shared that the number of people sitting in the waiting room for an injured or sick patient receiving care in an Emergency Room had a direct correlation with how the patient fared and recovered. Those with few or no friends or family in the waiting room didn't do as well or recover as quickly as those with many friends and family in the waiting room. The support in the waiting room is like a lifeline and motivation for the patient to pull through and recover. It is the support and strength when a little extra is needed!

Yesterday Robi was admitted to Emergency Room the hospital at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. The doctor is concerned because of his low oxygen levels due to the tumors in his lungs. Doctors will present the treatment process today.

We figure that our blog is like the door between Rob's "Emergency Room" (the hospital/home) and the "Waiting Room" that is cyber space. We would like for everyone reading the blog to leave a comment so they would know who was in their "cyber waiting room". Please let him know you are here and cheering him on. We can and will make a difference in his healing process.

We know there are hundreds of you in Rob's "Waiting Room." Let him know you are here. He's got a lot ahead of him the next few months. I know he'll fare better and recover more quickly with any love and encouragement you wish to share! Thank you so much to everyone for all the love and generosity, in every form: financial, comments and prayers. Experiences like these really showcase the depths of human love and compassion.

Please take a moment to leave a comment. Feel free to comment anonymously or just using your first name--whatever you're comfortable with. This blog is open and waiting for comments from everyone. Please spread the word so anyone who would like to, can sign in at his waiting room.
Thank you.

  3. The Stones used to be in our Beverly Glen ward and the Williams are in our ward. I have been keeping tabs on your condition through Face Book. My prayers are ongoing in your behalf and your family. My father died at age 50 of lung cancer and he didn't smoke. He left six children still at home. I know how awful that was for our family. Cancer is an horrendous disease. Know that you are loved and prayed for.

I know that what you are going through is far more difficult than I can even begin to imagine, but you are teaching all of us more than you know. After all that we take advantage of in life every day you are giving us the chance to feel humble, and draw nearer to Christ ourselves by praying for you. 28. I don't know you Rob, or your family. But I know what your family is going through. My youngest brother was diagnosed with Cancer when he was 17. It was a rough couple of weeks that turned into a rough couple of months. The only way we got through it was through the power of prayer. I know what you are going through is probably the hardest thing you will ever face. I also know that God does not put things in our path unless it makes us stronger. Know that you have a lot of people praying for you! The power of prayer is the most amazing medicine. Stay strong and remember to turn to your Heavenly Father for strength. He will never leave you alone!! Good Luck in this battle....we are all cheering you on!

  42. My husband, three daughters, and I take part in the Relay for Life every year. We walk around a high school track overnight, to remember family members that were (and will always be) very dear to us who lost their lives fighting cancer; we also walk in honor of those we know and do not know that have fought cancer, or are currently fighting cancer.

The Relay for Life symbolizes the hardship that cancer patients endure. We start walking in the early evening: when cancer is beginning; we continue walking through the night: we become tired as the darkness envelopes us; we struggle to keep walking as the sun rises the following day: there are only a few hours left, but we are so exhausted that we want to give up... but the light is overcoming the darkness and we know that we can keep going... to live another day.

Our participation in this event cannot come close to the pain, suffering, obstacles, and physical or emotional hardships that a cancer patient experiences; however, in this overnight event, we are able to raise thousands of dollars to help in the fight against cancer.

I do not know your family, but my heart is with you all. Continue to be strong and courageous. Much love to all of you. The Farnot Family ~Colorado Springs, CO.

Words can't express how sad we are that you are going through this awful physical and emotional pain. Is amazing to see how Amber has become such fighter herself. 124. I don't you or the family but would like to let ya'll know you are in prayers. My husband spent a lot of time in the hospital due to him having 2 heart transplants and I learned some things that helped us to survive. Get a plug in air freshener, my husband is not one who usually lights candles or anything but he loved his plug in. Bring in your owh toothpaste and toliet paper and cottonelle. Pictures, have the girls do projects that he can hang up. I love food, so for me it is important, ask nurses about places to eat. Most of all keep Faith that you will find peace with the Lord's plan. I know it is not easy so may you find away to find peace.

  130. I found your blog by reading the "eighteen25" blog. This lady in Flower Mound, TX is in your waiting room!! I pray that God will lay His hands on you and your family and keep you strong while you fight!

  131. I came to your blog through eighteen25. I will be waiting in your 'waiting room' everyday!! Please keep your faith...And listen to your gut!! It will tell you what to do... They gave my mom 4% chance to survive from ovarian cancer and she is with us today 20 years later. But they told her she HAD TO DO CHEMO and she said no...She just knew it was the wrong thing to do..That the chemo would kill her...

  145. I don't know your family personally, but my husband and I grew up in Vegas and we have mutual friends from school and church. We live in California now, but found out about your cute family through the girls @ 1825 blog and we have been praying for your family, thinking of you guys often, and checking this blog for updates. My children and I popped over to the bake sale since we were in town, and I was so touched by the amount of love and support you have behind you. Heavenly Father has given you some wonderful people to walk alongside you during this difficult time and the love for your little family is so powerful. Have faith and know that there are many people behind you... praying for you and your family....even if we haven't met yet. Keep fighting! :)

  149. I came across your blog due to a lot of loving hard work and unselfish dedication on all the Williams girls' (and their family's) account. I have kept up with your story and I am so sorry you have all that pain and that your family and friends worry for you... I have prayed for you and your family and all I can say is trust God and His will and don't doubt His plan for you and your family, and you will all feel inspiration on how to go about dealing with this struggle day by day and you will have peace in the process knowing that you are loved so deeply and intimately by a Heavenly Father. Thanks for touching my heart with your story. Rob, you seem like such a class act and even though I don't know you personally, I am really proud of you and have admired you and your wife and your superb friends.
